About
A high performance coach, athlete and sports scientist with over 12 years of experience in elite sport. Just as I strive for high standards from the athletes I work with, as an athlete I also work to develop my athletic ability to a high standard on a daily basis and work on maximising my potential in professional sport.
With a diverse background in various sporting environments from cycling to running and triathlon, I have been heavily involved in competing in elite sport since 2012 and endurance sport from a young age nationally and internationally, registered as a high performance athlete on the UL Sports Scholarship Programme for 2024/2025.
Aside from my athletic pursuits, as a sports scientist and coach I have dedicated my education to developing the ability to provide high quality coaching, with a background in Sports Science from an MSc Sports Performance in University of Limerick, Bachelors (Honours) in Sports Managment in TUS and Strength & Conditioning qualifications (REPS Ireland & NCSC) among UCI & FFC Diploma in Science qualifications in cycling.
I have worked with over 150+ athletes on their journey to national and international success in endurance sport (cycling & running), helping athletes achieve wins, international contracts and countless podiums. Key roles in sports science outside of endurance sport involved working as Head Sports Scientist within semi-pro & amateur football teams (Athlone Town FC & Limerick FC) and as a sports science research intern in professional rugby with Munster Rugby first team.

Experience in Elite Sport
2012 - 2024 (Present)
My experience in elite sport began at 15 years of age in 2012 and I've been involved in elite sport every year since, as an athlete and coach.
Recent experience as a sports scientist over the past 4 years includes:
2024 - Munster Rugby
Sports Science Research - First Team
2024 - Limerick FC
Head of Sports Science
2024 - University of Limerick GAA Sigerson Cup Team
Senior mens team strength and conditioning coach for 2024/2025.
2023 - Athlone Town
Strength & Conditioning Coach
2019 to Present - National & International Cycling - Endurance Coach
Providing endurance coaching to clients since 2019, achieving national & international wins/podiums and contracts.
2024 - Setanta College
Corrector on endurance development, speed development and advanced resistance training modules on undergraduate courses.
Early Years
My first involvement in elite sport came when I started playing in the League of Ireland as a 15 & 16 year old, before switching to cycling. In 2014 at 17 years of age, I was offered a contract in France for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons. These 3 years helped me develop as a young athlete in Europe and provided great experiences along with a big insight into elite sport while racing some of the biggest junior and U23 races in Europe.
What's Next ?
Every day I move one step closer to reaching the top of professional sport as an athlete and coach. My work in cycling coaching helping riders achieve national and international success continues, while also providing sports science services to athletes from amateur to professional level.
